I like the new version a lot. Nice job. The only issue I have with it is that the share button doesn’t work. You click it and nothing happens.

The Best! Love the new design improvements!
ReadKit was already the best RSS reader, now it’s the best looking as well. Thoroughly up to date.
I love ReadKit. Thank you for keeping it updated, even though there have been a few bugs along the way. But this new UI is a horrible step backward. The bold font on article titles is just too heavy, nearly unreadable. The article pane now has huge margins so there is less text on the screen. I can appreciate the design decision to move all the icons from the status bar at the bottom to the tool bar at the top, but you killed the pinning of the icons to the respective panes (the Mark all as read… button used to be anchored to the left side of the article list, no matter how wide each column was; now it’s stuck next to Tag icon, over the wrong column if my feed list is wide). Also, the grouping of the read/unread with Tags icon is confusing UI; grouping those implies they are mutually exclusive, but they aren’t, they are independent toggles. I know this sounds harsh but it really hurts when an app you love becomes ugly AND harder to use all at once. Once 5 stars, now only 3. Sigh...
The icons for sharing services (Safari, Evernote, Pocket, etc..) are missing and there seems to be no way to add them or otherwise customize the toolbar. Unfortunately this update makes the app unusable for me.
I don’t mind that they updated the look, but this new version is a massive step backwards for me. I’ve stopped using the app at this point. The old Toolbar could be customized so that you could just put up the services you used most often (for me that was Facebook, Twitter, and Save to Instapaper). Now, none of those are available in the toolbar at all. And the toolbar can’t be changed. You’re stuck with the app developers choice of icons of which I only use two. There are now six or seven icons that I have no use for, that I can’t move or get rid of. And the only two icons I use constantly are sandwiched between these useless icons so that it takes me much longer to close articles or mark as read then it did before. I don’t care about interface changes if it’s just a matter of style. Don’t necessarily appreciate when oft-used icons get shifted around, but when functionality goes away, the app becomes useless. If this interface gets fixed so that I can customize again for what I do, I’ll use it again.
This is the best app I’ve experienced for gathering RSS feeds. I’ve tried many and migrated to Readkit after the developer of my previous favorite app ceased development forever. Love the new Dark theme in the latest update! Nice!
Ive used ReadKit daily for a very long time and its a fantastic RSS reader. I do like the recent update, however the sharing icons (which were customizable) are now gone from the top bar. This is unfortunate, because in the previous version I had a Chrome button there that I could easily click to load the article in Chrome. Thats now not possible.
I am a long time user of Readkit and I was very satisfied with it. So this update was welcomed but now having had it installed on one of my Macs, I have disabled auto-update on the others. I think the UI improvements are a good idea but the implementation was woefully incomplete. As other reviewrs have pointed out, the latest release took away some customizations that were previously available for the sake, in my opnion, of hurriedly getting this release out. I don’t see what the hurry was as the previous 2.4.6 release was perfectly adequate and functional. I’m sure the developer will get around to restoring the last capabilities in future point releases but for now, I’ll stay away from 2.5 until the lost features are restored.
I love the new update. I think the GUI is gorgeous, especially the dark mode. Does everything I desier in an RSS reader. Keep up the great work!
The application has a nice UI and the idea is a good one but the execution not entirely satisfactory. Many URLs can not be converted to text versions and thus just open the article in a browser. This isn’t good enough as in this case one basically only has a bookmark application, which can be done in any browser instead. Most of the older articles aren’t text versions and therefore unusable. Unfortunately the search doesn’t work and delivers no results at all. The RSS functionality is extremely limited, requires the exact RSS feed link to function and offers no intelligent search, which makes it a time consuming hassle to add feeds. The full screen option doesn’t offer a real full screen but displays a menu and bottom bar at all times, which is distracting. Although it is a beautiful reader it is simply not very practical or useful at all.
Just bad. Issues: save to Evernote sends an error message that has to be dismissed for each photo in an article. No way to navigate a feed up or down from a feed item you localised via search. Worse, the 2,000-something unread items I had on my Feedbin were miraculously marked as read… Seriously, you dare sell this piece of junk for €6?
Feedly support! Finally! Many thanks for this. Now Im even happier. Not to mention I already was happy with that great software before...
The app is awesome and response quickly and has a lot of services. So I love it. Here are some things that could be improved: - more shortcuts thats it (:
Beste RSS App für Mac.
It seems that the preferences are not saved anymore: everytime I restart this app, the preferences are reset and the position of the windows too! It is annoying! Please fix it.
There is room for improvement: - Configure the shortcuts like Google Reader (S to star, M to mark as unread, etc...) - Export RSS subscriptions as OPML - Theres no Mark all as read button
Thanks for the quick bugfix release!
…but I am still missing one feature: It would be nice to have a rule for smart folders with "title -> contains not -> text". There only "contains" exists but I would like to filter out some feeds that are ads and contain a special sequence inside the title. Then 5 stars!
It was a good app, but the last few months (!) the app crashes very often while scrolling through news feeds. I sent dozens of crash reports, with no single answer or even just a simple „sorry, we are aware of your problem and try to fix it soon“. I don’t expect a problem to be fixed within days. But I expect at least getting an answer when I take the time to fill out crash reports.
